Thing1 wanted his head shaved for school. I did it this morning. A couple hours later he comes to me saying I missed a couple of hairs. I grabbed my trimmers and zipped off the two long ones on his forhead and then noticed a couple on the side of his head. Ziiiiippp... And then I realized I wasn't using the guard. Ooops.
He now has a quarter sized patch on his head with all the hair missing. I tried to get him to let me take a picture but he would have no part of it, ungrateful turd. The internets, they like the pictures. But he did laugh about it. I put on the guard that is between the original one used and the bare blade to smooth it out. It's not horrible if you don't look directly at it.

While standing in line at the grocery store this afternoon I noticed a little old lady (late 60s or early 70s raiding all the chocolate on the impulse racks. She had cookies and chocolate ice cream in her cart already. And by that I mean she only had chocolate in her cart. EVERYTHING. I was trying not to snicker. She really was cute though. Then she looked back at me sheepishly with a fist full of MnM's. "I went through menopause over 20 years ago. I had a hysterectomy over 10 years ago. And once a month I still need my chocolate."
Suddenly it wasn't so funny. It was a moment of female bonding, a woman's moment that only women can understand. I smiled at her and said "I understand, enjoy one for me." What I was really thinking was: Holy hell, will I always be a slave to the nectar of the gods? Will I always desperately need the cocoa bean? After contemplating my own weakness I looked up to see that she had also purchased a copy of some magazine with George Clooney on the cover. When she saw my eyes graze over her purchase she confided "He's almost as sweet, yes?"
Growing older, things change and sag and fall apart but some things stay the same...
Chocolate and George Clooney will always be yummy.

Awe, that's so sweet. Isn't it amazing how life hits you at the strangest times.
And yes, George Clooney is sooo sweet ;-)
Sounds like a great female bonding experience. Nice to know that some things never change.
Well its nice to know that things don't change and we will still be raging choco-holics. *sigh* and yes George still is sweet.
The real question is.. how many times did you get called "Mam" at the grocery store.. because now that will never change for you either! ;P
I love your female bonding moment - awesome. I look forward to being 70 and eating all the chocolate I want with no worries about the size of my ass.
omg, what a great story...yet kinda depressing too...well...at least we know that when we are old there will still be CHOCOLATE AND sexy men on covers of magazines. Hopefully too we won't be able to hear too well, so hubby's talking won't creep in and ruin the moment.
