LOL...see? There's WAAAY too much etiquette around Valentine's Day. Who to give flowers to, who NOT to give flowers to...
It's easier to piss off everyone and ignore the whole damn thing.
I got flowers too...from a guy I've never even met. I talk to him over the phone every day for work. Fairly certain he's old enough to be my father (usually not a problem for me, but come on). Weird!!

XUP, YES YES YES!!!! But at least they weren't carnations. Carnations are the red neck, trailer park trash, in-bred, unwanted ugly cousin of flowers.
And they stink to high heaven. To me, flowers should look like they've just been collected from a bountiful garden with maybe some wild flowers and grasses from the field next door thrown in - a riotously colourful bouquet that smells like spring and brightens up a room.
