Too much time shopping instead of working

I can't get into the groove of working today. As a result, I have gotten a lot of my Christmas shopping done, balanced my check-book (after shopping, OUCH) and looked for more Buddhas.

This one took my breath away and I can't explain why.

It's freakin' gorgeous. Did you buy it? Buy it. It's beautiful. It looks like despair, but it's still beautiful

That gets to me, too. Is it...sad? I think that's it, but the word seems inadequate.

It's also..."asking." And "waiting." And "despair," like Urban Pedestrian said. It's like...despair, and waiting for guidance.

From what I have read, it’s called The Weeping Buddha. It soaks up the sorrows and worries of the world and brings peace and compassion. And surprisingly, it did give me an overwhelming sense of peace when I saw it.

I love the Weeping Buddha and feel very at home with him. I also love the laughing Hoi Toi Buddha and love him as well. They each personify the depth and breadth of our feelings. We each should have one of each somewhere where we can touch them often.

We live in joy and we live in pain. We can celebrate both.

I went to a show of the Shaolin Warriors this weekend. Go, if you can. The Chi work was amazing.
