Can we rewind and start it over

It is barely after noon and I'm seriously reeling from today. I went to the post office this morning to get my passport paperwork processed and I was informed that the US Passport Authority will not acknowledge my existance. Apparently my birth certificate wasn't processed correctly when I was born, or something like that. I'm not sure exactly how to get this fixed (I've been given a phone number), but I'm positive it's going to be a royal pain in the ass.

Then I was told that I'm going to have to replace my kitchen cabinets and a portion of my wood floors in my dining room. All that from a dishwasher leak that I discovered on Christmas Eve.
As soon as I get over the OMG DOOM! MY HOUSE IS FALLING DOWN! I know I'll be excited about new cabinets and my floors being refinished all at the expense of my insurance company. For now I just feel sick to my stomach (that doesn't exist).

Oh, and my oven is still broken - Waiting for a new coil...


So, I obviously need some serious pick-me-up therapy.

• Shopping? hmmm...

I do need new cabinets and get to refinish my floors. This could be fun.

The cabinets will be replaced, probably the counter tops too. I'd like to keep the coloring of the flooring. Suggestions? Links? Help me out.
